There is a particular sigh a dog makes when it finally settles: chin on a cushion, joints eased, the day's walks behind it. The Highclere is built for that sigh.

Dressed in a soft, quietly smart grey knit, it suits the cleanest modern rooms and the grandest Georgian ones alike, with an orthopaedic base doing the real work underneath. It comes from Ralph & Co, the British bed makers, designed in Great Britain and handcrafted in Europe.

Why they'll love it

  • Kind to joints. An orthopaedic crumb memory foam base moulds to the body and relieves pressure points for deeper rest.
  • Somewhere to lean. Virgin fibre bolster walls give head, neck and spine support and hold their shape.
  • Smart and hard-wearing. Upholstery-grade grey knitted fabric with a soft, premium feel that copes with daily nesting.
  • Easy to keep fresh. The zipped covers come off completely and go in the washing machine.
  • Stays put. A non-slip base keeps it steady on wood, stone and tiles, backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.
