The Kensington Houndstooth Bolster Bed by Ralph & Co

Houndstooth has been the cloth of choice for well-dressed Londoners for generations, so it seems only fair the dog gets a turn. The Kensington is a little piece of Savile Row for the drawing-room floor.

Cut from upholstery-grade houndstooth check, with high bolster walls around a deep faux-fur cushion, it is as much a statement in a room as it is a refuge for whoever sleeps in it. It comes from Ralph & Co, the British bed makers, designed in Great Britain and handcrafted in Europe.

Why they'll love it

• A den of their own. High cushioned bolster walls make a snug, secure space that soothes anxious pets.
• Deep and soft. A reversible cushion filled with high-bounce virgin fibre gives plenty of comfort and support.
• Easy to keep fresh. The covers come off completely and go in the washing machine.
• Handsome details. Handcrafted leather handles make it easy to carry from room to room.
• Stays put. A non-slip base keeps it steady on hard floors, backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty.
